Hawks earn 3-set sweep of Warriors

La GRANGE -- Eastern Wayne tumbled from the unbeaten ranks with a 12-25, 14-25, 22-25 loss to perennial 2-A power North Lenoir inside Wooten Gym on Monday afternoon.
Senior middle hitter Naheria Hamilton recorded four kills and five solo blocks for the Warriors, who dropped to 2-1 overall this season. Senior outside hitter Chelsea Wynn provided six kills. Sophomore Genevieve Bernard dished out five assists and added three digs.
Defensively, junior libero Jennifer Sparks and sophomore Emily Newsome had eight and six digs, respectively.
Mya Parks had 10 kills and five digs for North Lenoir. Paige Sports posted seven kills. Laura Haerer logged four kills and two blocks, while Allyson Heath passed out 17 assists.
The Hawks improved to 4-0 overall.
Eastern Wayne plays host to county rival Rosewood today.
