South Lenoir scored three consecutive goals during a 34-minute stretch in the opening half, and eased past Eastern Wayne, 4-3, on Monday evening.
The Warriors' Alfrado Cabrera tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth minute before the Blue Devils raced to a 4-1 advantage at intermission.
Christian Anderson scored off of Ethan Quinn's assist in the 65th minute. Quinn capped the Warriors' offensive output with a goal in the 74th minute off of Ben Everett's assist.
"(A) hardfought game towards the end," first-EW head coach Scott Summers said. "(We) started off flat and had simple mistakes. (We're) making small progress (but) finished strong. Still a lot to work on."
Eastern Wayne (0-2-0 overall) visits South Lenoir on Wednesday.
