Tyona Moses led three Goldsboro players in double figures with 19 points during an 81-8, non-conference thrashing of Rocky Mount Prep on Tuesday evening.

Tawana Jones added 17 points, while Deja Moore scored 10.

Jones and Tayzlie Trippie (nine points) played several key minutes in reserve roles for the Cougars, who improved to 3-5 overall this season.

"What stuck out to me was the way they played together," GHS head coach LaTina Bullock said. "I tell the girls all the time, 'no matter who we play, play like this all the time,' because they're very capable."

Comprised mostly of freshmen and sophomores, the Jaguars continue their learning process with their fourth coach in their last four seasons.

"I was not disappointed whatsoever with this game," RMP head oach Robert Jewell said. "Realistically we're a JV team, and I told them that. I was more encouraged, because not one time did they give up. They at least continued to try to do what I asked."

Goldsboro plays host to Southern Wayne on Saturday.
