Covington leads Warriors in ECC 3A/4A opener

Three players scored in double figures for Eastern Wayne during a 72-58 win over South Central in the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A opener for both teams Tuesday evening.
Jasmine Covington led the way with 19 points, while Tianna Christopher added 17. Shontel Monk chipped in 15 for the undefeated Warriors.
Chelsea Wynn and Naheria Hamilton each played well in the post as the duo combined for 15 points and 20 rebounds. Hamilton blocked seven shots.
Eastern Wayne (7-0 overall, 1-0 ECC) travels to New Bern on Thursday.
