Aycock girls handle New Bern

PIKEVILLE -- Ashley Darden led a balanced scoring attack as Charles B. Aycock dominated New Bern 57-37 in the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A opener for both teams Tuesday.
Darden finished with 14 points.
Guards Mookie Powell and Taylor Daniels scored eight points apiece. Emily Patnaude had seven.
The Golden Falcons (10-2 overall, 1-0 ECC) travel to county and conference rival Southern Wayne on Thursday.
