PRINCETON -- Blake Tart's halfcourt heave swished the net as time expired and lifted South Johnston past Princeton, 67-65, in double overtime Monday evening.
The Bulldogs couldn't convert at the free throw line with three seconds left. The Trojans got the rebound, Tart received the outlet pass and his Hail Mary shot -- between the top of the key and midcourt circle -- dropped in.
Tart finished with 18 points.
"Unbelievable," PHS head coach Jeff Davis said of Tart's miraculous game-winning shot.
Michael Wooten pumped in a team- and game-high 27 points for the Bulldogs, who dropped to 1-3 overall this season. DeMarcus Ellis and Tanner Woodard provided 10 points apiece.
Princeton plays host to Midway on Wednesday.
