Rosewood girls build early lead, thump North Johnston

Despite a rough night shooting from the floor, Rosewood built up a 19-point lead by halftime and cruised to a 54-37 victory over North Johnston in non-conference action.
Lexi Mercer scored 23 points on 10 off 22 shooting and added five rebounds, five assists, six steals and four blocks.
No other Eagles were in double figures and combined to shoot under 26 percent from the field. Krystal Yelverton added seven points and Nakia Williams had five points and 11 rebounds.
Callie Thornton had six steals for Rosewood.
Rosewood (2-0 overall) plays host to Cleveland today.
