TEACHEY -- Top-seeded Wallace-Rose Hill posted 35 first-half points and cruised past Rosewood, 56-6, during second-round play in the NCHSAA 1-AA east playoffs Friday evening.
The Bulldogs entertain Princeton next Friday. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. at Legion Field inside Holley-Overman Stadium.
Quarterback Cameron Helt scored the Eagles' lone touchdown in the second quarter. The sophomore accounted for 154 yards of total offense -- 63 rushing and 91 passing on 6 of 16 attempts.
Quan Joyner had five receptions for 85 yards.
Mike Woodard led the ground attack with 67 yards.
"We have great young men on our football team who have been a pleasure to coach," said RHS head coach Robert Britt, whose team concluded the year 7-6 after an 0-3 start.
"The score of last night's game doesn't show how hard they played. Our seniors did a great job of leading this year and they will be missed. I'm extremely proud to be their coach."
W-RH has won both playoff meetings against the Eagles.
