Plymouth shuts out North Duplin

PLYMOUTH -- Two-time defending eastern 1-A regional champion Plymouth eliminated North Duplin, 49-0, in their second-round contest in the NCHSAA 1-A playoffs Friday evening.
The Rebels managed 116 yards of total offense. Senior Brion Kornegay rambled for 34 yards on 10 carries, Daquan Goodman had 32 yards and JP Payton had 31 yards.
Kaleb Brock contributed 19 rushing yards.
North Duplin didn't complete a pass in two attempts, and collected eight first downs in its season-ending loss.
The Rebels endured their first playoff shutout defeat since 2009 -- a 26-0 loss at Elkin.
