CBA athletes recognized at fall sports awards ceremony

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock athletes participated in a season-ending fall sports awards ceremony held Thursday evening in the school gymnasium.
Awards were presented in seven sports.
* Men's soccer: Coach's Player-of-the-Year -- Joey Hampton, Zach Zacharzuk; Offensive Player-of-the-Year -- Chris Grieve; Defensive Player-of-the-Year -- Collin Hinnant; Most Valuable Player -- Bobby Hampton.
* Varsity volleyball: Offensive award -- Alexis Bynum; Defensive award -- Quanika Lofton; Serving award -- Emily Patnaude; Falcon Award -- Taylor Daniels; Jane Tyndall Memoria Award -- Courtney Warner.
* Men's cross country: Most Improved -- Cameron Sims; Coach's Award -- Hunter Crane; MVP -- Joseph Mooneyham.
* Women's cross country: Most Improved -- Mercedes Sterling; MVP -- Sarah Gregory.
* Women's tennis: Most Improved -- Sabrina Johnson; Outstanding doubles award -- Casie Belom, Cassidy Coerver; MVP -- Ashton Walker.
* Women's golf: Most Improved -- Anna Williams; Extra Effort -- Isabelle Boulanger; Coach's Award -- Rachel Boulanger; MVP -- Abby Sauls.
* JV volleyball: Best All-Around -- Hannah Carter; Falcon Award -- Mackenzie Wheeler.
