Waters leads Chargers at Wilson Christian XC meet

WILSON -- Wayne Country Day's DJ Waters placed ninth among individual runners during a nine-team boys' meet hosted by Wilson Christian Academy.
Waters ran the 5k course in 23 minutes, 22 seconds.
Teammates Jackson Warren (16th, 24:15), Conner Shaw (18th, 24:24), Stone Wang (25th, 24:57) and Daniel Covert (35th, 27:13) completed the Chargers' team scoring.
On the girls' side, Wayne Country Day's Margaret Tanner crossed the line 11th in 27:56. Elizabeth Bailey placed 33rd in 32:25. Teammates Natalie Brown (34:57), Allison Bailey (35:17) and Alley Jackson (36:15) rounded out the team score.
Wayne Christian also participated in the meet, but first names were not provided with results submitted to the News-Argus.
