Sladick helps Eagles get first 'W' of season

Wayne Christian got its first win of the season with a 25-20, 25-19, 26-24 non-conference triumph over Greenville Christian at Clifford Gymnatorium on Tuesday evening.
Hannah Sladick led the Eagles with seven kills and two blocks. Mercy Wright had three service aces and two kills. Sarah Sawyer had four kills and three aces.
The Gurley sisters -- Holley and Jody -- combined for 30 digs defensively, while Regan Taylor added 14 digs.
Kasey Norris had nine assists and Emily Wells had eight assists, respectively.
The Eagles (1-2 overall) entertain Goldsboro on Thursday.
