Golden Falcons outlast Cougars on volleyball court

Charles B. Aycock was pushed to its limit by Goldsboro, but pulled out a 25-13, 25-18, 20-25, 16-25, 15-9 non-conference win at Norvell T. Lee Gym on Tuesday evening.
Courtney Warner led the Golden Falcons with nine kills. Sydney Schmeltzer had seven kills and three aces and Alexis Bynum chipped in six kills.
Becka Pittard led Goldsboro with 10 kills, six aces, eight digs and four blocks. Alexus Davis had six kills, two blocks, seven digs and two aces. Matti Rose Lyon had eight assists.
Goldsboro (1-2 overall) faces Hobbton today, while C.B. Aycock (2-2) opens Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play at New Bern on Thursday.
