Mora has 118-yard outing in Rebels' opener

CALYPSO -- Emiliano Mora rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns in North Duplin's season-opening, 43-22 victory over Southside at H.E. Grubbs Field on Friday evening. Mora scored on runs of 1, 5 and 3 yards. The Rebels compiled 341 yards of total offense out of their flexbone option scheme. Quarterback JP Payton rushed for 59 yards and completed his lone pass -- a 31-yard reception by Cedric Kornegay. Kaleb Brock rambled for 68 yards and a TD on 14 carries. Southern Wayne transfer Brion Kornegay supplied 70 yards and a TD on seven totes. North Duplin committed four turnovers, including three fumbles. Southside lost four fumbles. The Rebels (1-0 overall) travel to Pinetown Northside on Friday.Untitled Story
