* Wayne Country Day attempted 15 shots on goal, but had to settle for a 0-0, non-conference draw against Faith Christian of Rocky Mount on a humid Friday afternoon.
Chargers keeper Patrick Hall logged his second clean sheet of the season.
"With the chances we created in the game we should have won about 6-0," WCDS head coach Steven Ellis said. "We need to be more clinical and take advantage of the build up work."
Wayne Country Day (3-1-1 overall) travels to Kerr-Vance Academy on Tuesday.

* Wayne Country Day emerged victorious on five singles courts and upended Faith Christian of Rocky Mount, 8-1, at Wayne Community College on Friday afternoon.
Gianna Democko, Jennifer Potts and Taylor Willman did not lose a game. Ally Willman and Anna Allen each prevailed in straight sets.
Democko-Margaux Pope, T. Willman-A. Willman and Potts-Taylor Gumbish swept the Patriots in doubles play. The trio combined to lose just three games.
Wayne Country Day (4-0 overall) faces North Lenoir at Bill Fay Park on Monday afternoon. First serve is 4 p.m.
Volleyball

Northwood Temple 0
* FAYETTEVILLE -- Wayne Country Day snapped a two-match skid with a 25-18, 25-18, 25-19 non-conference sweep of Northwood Temple on Friday afternoon.
Rachel Uzzell had 10 assists and served four aces. Savannah Strickland had five kills and Stephanie Schappell had three kills. Sarah Crooks had two kills and six aces.
The Chargers (1-2 overall) entertain Kerr-Vance on Tuesday.
Beddingfield 3, Goldsboro 0
* Perennial Eastern Plains 2-A powerhouse Wilson Beddingfield handed Goldsboro a 25-13, 25-16, 25-23 non-conference defeat inside Norvell T. Lee Gymnasium.
Sophomore Becka Pittard paced the Cougars' attack with six kills. Alexus Davis provided five kills. The duo combined for four blocks.
Matti Rose Lyon and Angelina Nacca handed out three assists apiece.
The Cougars (1-1 overall) entertain county rival Charles B. Aycock on Tuesday.
JV sports
* Boys' soccer: Wayne Christian 8, Wilson Christian 1 -- Holden Foster and Will White notched two goals apiece in the Eagles' home victory Friday. Skyler Price, Jeremy Bentley, Luke Suggs and Jaxon Anderson each tallied one goal. Anderson provided three assists. Foster dished out two assists, while Price added one assist. Wayne Christian (1-1-0 overall) travels to Christ Covenant in Winterville on Monday.
* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 4, Faith Christian-Rocky Mount 0 -- John Thompson scored two goals and dished out an assist in the Chargers' victory. Nehemiya Shaw and David Gurley scored one goal apiece. Frank Best recorded an assist.
* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Christ Covenant 12-25, 25-21, 27-25 -- Game stats were not provided. The Chargers play host to Oakwood on Tuesday.
* Volleyball: Beddingfield d. Goldsboro 25-9, 25-16 -- Tawanna Jones had two kills in the Cougars' two-set loss. Ashley Falconer and Ivey Wade each served two aces. Haley Edwards delivered three assists.

The player is Cassidy Coerver, not Casie Belom. Coerver defeated Southern Wayne's Alli Barrow, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2 singles.
