MOUNT OLIVE -- University of Mount Olive head women's lacrosse coach Grant Kelam has signed eight recruits for the 2014-15 season.

Five incoming freshmen -- Charlotte Cockburn, Angie Cretella, Addison Foudray, Taylor Miller and Madison Ronelli -- each signed a national letter-of-intent and will join transfers Carolyn DeOrdio, Kristen McGovern and Claire Wigler.

McGovern inked a grant-in-aid package, while Miller received an international scholarship.

"After a fantastic season last year, and losing only two players to graduation, this extremely talented incoming class is going to help us reach that next level of progression for this program," said Kelam, who is in his third year at Mount Olive. "We are bringing in a wealth of athleticism and pure lacrosse talent in this recruiting class. This is an exciting group to add to our returning players."

Cockburn, from Ontario, will play on defense. Cretella is a midfielder and DeOrdio is a defender who helped lead Onondaga (N.Y.) Community College to a runner-up finish in the NJCAA national championship. A two-time first-team All-American, Wigler played at Onondaga with DeOrdio.

Foudray enjoyed an outstanding prep career at Kettle Run (Va.) High School and ended up second on the all-time goal-scoring list. McGovern played at St. Leo University a year ago and was named to the 2013 Division II Independent all-freshman team.

Miller played for the Canadian National team, while Ronelli is a former two-time All-Metro selection for Winter Park (Fla.) High School.

UMO posted a 12-6 record in 2013 and logged a 4-2 worksheet against Conference Carolinas opposition. The Trojans advanced to the semifinals of the season-ending conference tournament.
