Rebels storm past Wildcats on softball diamond

Rylee Pate and Shaily McCarty combined for the shutout as North Duplin trounced Carolina 1-A Conference foe Hobbton 19-0 on Tuesday night.
The duo combined for 13 strikeouts.
McCarty had two hits and four RBI to lead the Rebels. Rylee Pate had three hits with an RBI, while Chesney Brown had two hits with an RBI. Haley Thurston drove in two runs.
North Duplin (9-6 overall, 8-3 CC) entertains Spring Creek today in the regular-season finale for both teams.
