Aycock, EW netters fall in 3A east regional

WILSON -- Charles B. Aycock's second-seeded tandem of Addison Vail-Allan Best endured a season-ending, quarterfinal-round loss in the N.C. High School Athletic Association eastern 3-A regional at Barton College on Friday afternoon.
Vail-Best emerged with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Cleveland's pair of Tyler Garner-Andrew Josupalt in first-round play. The CBA tandem dropped a 4-6, 7-5, 1-6 decision to Corinth-Holders' Jake Altman-Jamie Schap.
The Golden Falcons' duo of Chas Hooks-Jackson Yelverton fell to Corinth-Holders' Braxton Brewington-Christian Green 6-2, 7-5 in the first round.
Eastern Wayne's Ethan Quinn suffered a 6-0, 6-3 defeat against South Brunswick's Caleb Stanley in their first-round singles match.
