Golden Falcons blank Bruins, extend win streak

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock scored its lone run in the third inning during a 1-0, non-conference triumph over border rival Wilson Beddingfield on Wednesday evening.
N.C. State commit Meredith Burroughs threw a four-hitter inside the pitcher's circle. The right-hander logged five strikeouts and issued two walks in a complete-game effort.
Connor Vinson and Madison Walton each had two hits for the Golden Falcons. Keeley Fulghum added one hit. Burroughs drew two walks in three plate appearances.
Campbell University commit Cierra Harris stole one base, giving her 15 for the season.
The Golden Falcons (14-2 overall) put their nine-game win streak on the line at Eastern Wayne next Tuesday.
