CBA slips past Panthers on softball diamond

PIKEVILLE -- C.B. Aycock held off a late charge from North Johnston and escaped with a 10-9 victory over the non-conference foe.
The Golden Falcons cranked out 12 hits, including three hits and three RBI from Keely Fulghum. Allison Shingleton (three RBI), Cierra Harris (RBI) and Madison Walton (two RBI) each had two hits for the Golden Falcons.
Connor Vinson, Allie Phillips and Abbie Walton rounded out the hitting. Meredith Burroughs had four walks.
Burroughs got the win in the circle, throwing three innings in relief and giving up three runs on four hits. Shingleton got the start.
C.B. Aycock (13-2 overall) entertains Beddingfield today.
