DHC defeats Eastern Wayne in ECC 3A/4A action

Eastern Wayne couldn't overcome three errors in the sixth inning and lost to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe D.H. Conley, 6-0, on Thursday evening.
Ryan Faucette endured the pitching loss. He allowed six runs (two earned) on six hits and recorded four strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Tanner Wells threw 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief.
Zach Smith, Ryan Kelly and Andrew McKeel each had a hit for the Warriors.
Weather permitting, Eastern Wayne (7-11 overall, 4-6 ECC) faces Tallwood (Va.) High School in opening-round play of the Pitt County Classic on Saturday. First pitch is 11 a.m. at South Central High School.
