Blue Devils blank Cougars in ECC 2A baseball

Goldsboro endured an 11-0, five-inning defeat at the hands of Eastern Carolina 2-A foe South Lenoir on Thursday evening.
Jared Howard led the offense with two hits for the Cougars. Kenny Stempien, Damon Pate, Cayce Herring and Isaiah Cole each added a hit.
Zach Falconer pitched 3 1/3 innings and mound loss. Miguel Lugo recorded the final two outs in relief during the mercy-rule defeat.
Goldsboro (1-12 overall) entertains Jones Senior on April 28.
