GREENVILLE -- Taylor Waddell fired a three-hitter inside the pitcher's circle, and Charles B. Aycock pounded out a 14-2 victory over J.H. Rose in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference game.
Waddell went the distance for the Golden Falcons, who improved to 8-1 against league opposition this season. She permitted two earned runs and issued four walks.
Allison Shingleton (RBI) and Madison Walton (RBI) had two hits apiece for Aycock. Connor Vinson (RBI), Myleah Jones (two RBI), Abbie Walton (three RBI), Michaela Thompson (RBI), Meredith Burroughs (RBI) and Waddell (RBI) each registered one hit.
Vinson stole two bases.
Weather permitting, the Golden Falcons (10-2 overall) are the guests of defending state 3-A champion D.H. Conley on Tuesday.
