Golden Falcons upend Bears in ECC 3A baseball

NEW BERN -- Charles B. Aycock extended its win streak to three games with a 5-2 triumph over Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe New Bern on Friday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons swept the regular-season series.
Bobby Hampton earned the complete-game win on the mound. The left-hander gave up two unearned runs on three hits and recorded 14 strikeouts.
Garrett Joyner doubled and scored three times. Tim Naughton provided two hits, including a two-out RBI single in top of the seventh inning.
Ashton McGee and Charlie Robertson added one hit apiece.
Aycock (8-6 overall, 4-3 ECC) entertain Southern Wayne on Tuesday.
