Reed Howell and Jordan Lynn combined for a no-hitter during Rosewood's 6-0, non-conference triumph over Goldsboro on Tuesday.
Howell, a senior, struck out 11 Cougars during a five-inning stint. Lynn tossed two innings of shutout relief for the Eagles, who improved to 1-1 overall this season.
Lynn, Ethan Chapin, Brent Breedlove (RBI) and Hayden Amodeo (RBI) each had one hit on the day. Howell and Bryce McKell each drove in one run.
Goldsboro's Cayce Herring went the distance. He surrendered all four runs (two earned), struck out five and walked four.
