Hayes earns mound win for Saints

DUDLEY -- Jackson Hayes threw three solid innings and Southern Wayne turned back Greene Central, 7-5, in a rain-shortened non-conference contest on Thursday afternoon.
Hayes fanned six Rams and yielded two runs.
Cole Barwick, DJ Skinner (RBI), Hunter Barwick (RBI) and Kevin Williams cranked out one hit apiece for the Saints. Williams scored two runs.
Southern Wayne (2-2 overall) and Greene Central meet again next Tuesday in Snow Hill.
