Southern Wayne falls in baseball opener

DUDLEY -- Wilmington New Hanover triumphed spoiled the debut of Southern Wayne head baseball coach Jackson Massey during a 7-4 victory on a bone-chilling Wednesday afternoon.
Josh Jeremiah led the Saints' offense with two RBI. Hunter Barwick batted 1-for-1 with an RBI. Kevin Williams and Chris Reedy provided one hit apiece, while Cody Davis plated a run.
Jacob Hollingsworth absorbed the mound loss.
Southern Wayne (0-1 overall) travels to North Lenoir today.
