Conley girls bounce E. Wayne from ECC girls' tourney

GREENVILLE -- D.H. Conley rallied to defeat Eastern Wayne 41-36 in semifinal-round play of the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference on Thursday evening.
The Vikings trailed 32-29 at halftime and neither team managed to score in the third quarter. Conley outscored the Warriors 12-4 in the final quarter.
Jasmine Covington paced Eastern Wayne with 13 points. Elondia Grant and Shontel Monk each added six points. Naheria Hamilton pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Warriors (11-8 overall) begin play in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A playoffs on Monday.
