Rosewood girls dominate North Duplin

Lexi Mercer scorched the nets for 30 points and state-ranked Rosewood handed North Duplin a 71-27 setback on the Carolina 1-A Conference scene Wednesday evening.
Alicia Burns added 18 points for the Eagles, who are No. 8 in the latest NCPreps.com 1-A state poll.
Shaily McCarty led the Rebels with 14 points. Rylee Pate added five.
Rosewood (16-1 overall, 9-0 CC) is the guest of Spring Creek on Friday, while North Duplin (2-13, 2-7) entertains county rival James Kenan today.
