James Kenan boys beat N. Duplin in 3rd-place game

KENANSVILLE -- Dominique Barnes scored a team-best 12 points during James Kenan's consolation-round, 55-38 triumph over North Duplin in the 2013 Duplin County Holiday Tournament contested Saturday afternoon at Kenansville Memorial Auditorium.

Antonio Smith added 11 points for the Tigers.

Cody Ivey and Daron Goodman collected 12 points apiece for the Rebels. Savon Scott supplied eight points.

Goodman posted a team- and game-high 16 points in North Duplin's opening-day, 72-54 loss to Wallace-Rose Hill. Ivey and Demarcus Pearsall dropped in seven points apiece for the Rebels, who dipped to 3-4 overall this season.

Kornegay registered six points.

TJ Fullwood and Austin Melvin tallied nine points apiece in James Kenan's 51-48 setback against East Duplin on Friday. Smith and John Brooks each scored seven points.

Nick Taylor pulled down seven rebounds, while Karon Williams picked East Duplin for three steals.
