Chargers' Davis just misses double-double

CREEDMOOR -- Joel Davis tallied 16 points and Wayne Country Day defeated Northern Vance, 55-46, in opening-round play of the South Granville Christmas tournament Thursday.
Davis pulled down eight rebounds for the Chargers, who face Village Christian at 4:30 p.m. today. Lee Atkinson contributed 15 points and dished out six assists.
Marlon Coley collected 13 points.
Wayne Country Day improved to 12-4 overall.
