Rosewood could not overcome a slow start in a 48-38, non-conference loss to North Johnston on Tuesday night.
The Eagles went seven minutes without a field goal in the second quarter and scored just eight points in the first half.
"The pace of the game was very slow and deliberate," Rosewood head coach Daniel Mitchell said. "We had trouble making shots early, but once we started to pick up the pace I feel like we played much better."
Rosewood erased a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter and cut the Panther's advantage to 37-35 before the visitors iced the game at the free throw line.
Jon Hare led the Eagles' offense with 16 points. Zack Barnes added 11 points and Dennis Mitchell finished with seven.
Rosewood (0-1 overall) visits South Johnston on Dec. 4.
