Wayne Country Day's starters made a brief appearance against county rival Wayne Christian on Tuesday evening.
The Chargers' starting five combined for 32 points in a 75-38, non-conference victory over the Eagles at Clifford Gymnatorium.
Lee Atkinson and Marlon Coley scored 10 points apiece Wayne Country Day.
The Chargers built a 31-11 on a 14-1 run toward the end of the first quarter. WCDS knocked down four of its seven 3-pointers in the period, and has hit 17 triples in its last two games.
"(Monday) night we hit 10 3's," Wayne Country Day head coach David Flowers said. "We're shooting the ball well. With the size we have, we have to shoot the ball well. That's something we've stressed to the guys is if we want to score we have to be good on the perimeter."
Wayne Country Day used tenacious ball pressure to disrupt Wayne Christian's offense. The Eagles managed just three points in the second quarter and trailed 51-14 at halftime.
"We kind of saw that they couldn't handle the press as much and we just kind of stayed on it," Flowers said. "That helped, too, and it gave us a nice push early."
Wayne Christian freshman Kanin Preskite caught fire in the third quarter. Preskite drained three 3-pointers as part of a 16-3 run. He finished with a game-high 22 points. Austin Howell added nine points.
"He's a good ball handler and a good kid top to bottom," Eagles' head coach Roger Longwell said. "He breaks the press a lot and he's got a pretty good eye for the outside shot. I think he's going to run our offense for a few years."
Every Charger scored as Flowers emptied his bench in the second half and sat his starters for the final two quarters.
Wayne Country Day visits Grace Christian of Sanford on Dec. 3, while the Eagles (0-4) play host to Carolina Christian 1-A Conference foe Lee Christian.
