Five county swimmers posted individual regional-qualifying times during a 10-team meet contested at the Goldsboro Family Y on Monday evening.

Goldsboro teammates Zach Darden and Timmy Vick, and Eastern Wayne's Tricia Malcolm each advanced to the postseason in two events. The Warriors' Greg Moorehead and Rosewood's Kodey Silknitter qualified in one event apiece.

Darden emerged victorious in the 200 individual medley (2 minutes, 4.67 seconds) and 100 butterfly (53.75 seconds). Vick qualified in the 200 free (2:10.07) and 100 breaststroke.

Malcolm turned in regional times during the 50 free (27.86 seconds) and 100 free (1:03.77). She helped the Warriors take second in the 400 free relay in 4:54.96. Joining her were Briana Applegarth, Taylor Sledge and Kaitlin Tallarida.

Moorehead punched his regional ticket in the 100 free (55.35).

Silknitter turned in a regional time of 1:06.45 in the 100 backstroke, just six days after earning regional berths in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.

Southern Wayne's Austin Edgecomb registered regional consideration times in the 500 free and 100 breaststroke. In his season-opening meet, Edgecomb recorded a regional-qualifying mark in the 200 free.

Charles B. Aycock's Devin Hall, a former two-time state champion, claimed the 1-meter diving event with 201 points. Eastern Wayne's Willie Smith was a distant second, followed by the Golden Falcons' Colton Marley in third.

Rosewood's Ciera Satterfield took third in the 200 IM (3:11.07) and touched the wall sixth in the 100 breaststroke (1:32.29). Goldsboro's Olivia Paul placed fourth in the 500 free with a regional consideration time of 7:33.97.
