Boys' basketball
C.B. Aycock 63, Goldsboro 60
* PIKEVILLE -- Michael Williams poured in 31 points and Charles B. Aycock held off Goldsboro for a 63-60 win on Friday night.
Cameron Kornegay added 10 points for the Golden Falcons and Bryce Jordan had eight.
Rasheen Artis scored 24 points for the Cougars and Myron Carmon had 18.
Aycock (2-1) travels to North Lenoir on Tuesday while Goldsboro (1-1) visits Rocky Mount Prep.
Southern Wayne 77,
North Lenoir 59
* DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne picked up its first win of the season in a 77-59 victory over North Lenoir.
Tarvis Bradshaw scored 17 points for the Saints. Maurice Butler added 11 points. Xzavier Pearsall had 10.
Southern Wayne (1-2) visits Jones Senior on Tuesday.
Trinity-Fayetteville 73,
Wayne Country Day 48
* FAYETTEVILLE -- Former Goldsboro High standout Alonzo Tyson knocked down 12 points and Trinity Christian of Fayetteville handed Wayne Country Day a 73-48, non-conference defeat.
Kwe Parker and Braxton Ross led Trinity with 16 points apiece.
"Trinity is the number one-ranked team in the state with a number of Division I recruits," first-year WCDS head coach David Flowers said. "(We) had a poor shooting performance in the first half, but continued to battle and had a much better second half."
Joel Davis paced the Chargers with a double-double -- 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jamal Forde chipped in eight points, while Kris Cooley scored seven. Victor Miller and Lee Atkinson (five assists) each scored five points.
Wayne Country Day (4-1 overall) entertains Kestrel Heights on Monday.
South Lenoir 72,
Spring Creek 34
* SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek was outscored 55-26 over the final three quarters of a 72-34 loss to South Lenoir on Friday night.
Chad Spurgeon led the Gators with seven points and five rebounds. Malik Mitchell added six points.
Girls' basketball
Southern Wayne 58,
North Lenoir 32
* DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne improved to 3-0 with a 58-32 win over North Lenoir on Friday night.
Zaria Atkins and Sharonne Maultsby each scored 14 points for the Saints. Atkins also had eight assists and five steals.
Southern Wayne visits Jones Senior on Tuesday.
Goldsboro 42, C.B. Aycock 37
* PIKEVILLE -- Goldsboro rallied in the second half for a 42-37 win on Friday night at Charles B. Aycock.
The Cougars (1-1) trailed 20-15 at halftime and 30-29 after three quarters. Goldsboro outscored Aycock 15-7 in the final quarter.
Destini Covington finished with a game-high 26 points for the Cougars. Sierra Barksdale had five points.
Myleah Jones led the Golden Falcons (1-1) with 16 points. Taylor Daniels scored seven points.
South Lenoir 59, Spring Creek 43
* SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek endured a 59-43 loss to South Lenoir on Friday night.

* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro 42, C.B. Aycock 37 -- Kisheem Faison paced the Cougars with 12 points. Jaryan Hargis provided eight points and Jacob Owens had seven. Osi Amaefule led the Golden Falcons with eight points. Damien Darden scored seven points.
* Girls' basketball: Goldsboro 42, C.B. Aycock 29 -- Alicia Hobbs and Sterling Jones each finished with 12 points for the Cougars. Khanryn Brown added seven points. Allison Shingleton had 10 points for the Golden Falcons.
* Girls' basketball: Southern Wayne 50, North Lenoir 23 -- Monica Manley led the Saints with 21 points. Jessica Sauls scored six for the Hawks.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Wayne Christian 20, Freedom Christian 13 -- Kasey Norris led the Eagles with 10 points. Ashley Harrelson added eight points. Wayne Christian (3-0) entertains Wayne Country Day on Tuesday.
* Boys' basketball: Wayne Christian 43, Freedom Christian 18 -- Austin Kornegay finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Eagles (2-2). Jackson Anderson added 10 points.
