JV sports

* Football: Greene Central 44, Ayden-Grifton 6 -- Brandon Hunt scored three touchdowns for the Rams. Khalil Williams, Dana Lanier and Montavious Battle each added a touchdown. Greene Central (5-0 overall, 1-0 Eastern Carolina 2-A) visits North Lenoir on Oct. 17.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. North Duplin 25-22, 15-25, 25-16 -- Ada Rivera led the Eagles with seven assists, five aces, one kill and one dig. Hannah Daniels recorded five aces and Hailey Weeks had five digs, three aces and two kills.

* Volleyball: North Lenoir d. Goldsboro 25-11, 25-4 -- Goldsboro plays host to Greene Central on Tuesday.

Middle schools

* Football: Spring Creek 40, Brogden 0 -- Nick Strickland and Dominique Morse each had two rushing touchdowns for the Gators. Jamarian Dawson added touchdown on the ground and also caught a touchdown pass from Will Archer. Michael Russo led Spring Creek (4-0 overall) with six tackles and Josh Lebron had five tackles.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Greenwood 25-7, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21 -- Alaysha Warren paced the Eagles with 10 aces and four kills. Rosewood (9-0 overall) entertains Eastern Wayne on Monday.

* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Brogden 25-9, 25-12, 25-9 -- Spring Creek (4-3 overall) visits Greenwood on Monday.

* Volleyball: Norwayne d. Eastern Wayne 25-19, 25-19, 25-13 -- Norwayne (8-1 overall) travels to Dillard on Monday while Eastern Wayne (7-2) visits Rosewood.
