Preps digest: JV, middle school sports

JV sports
* Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Christ Covenant 26-24, 25-27, 25-15 -- The Eagles (9-6, 5-4 CCC) begin Carolina Christian 1-A Conference tournament play on Tuesday at Trinity Christian of Raleigh.
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Spring Creek 25-15, 25-16 -- Ada Rivera handed out five assists and served three aces for the Eagles, who improved to 9-3 in Carolina 1-A Conference play this season. Payton Lane and Kendall Gurley served three aces apiece. Hailey Weeks supplied two kills, one block, one dig and one ace.
Middle schools
* Football: Spring Creek 40, Mount Olive 6 -- Landon Smother, Will Archer, Nick Strickland and Dominique Morse each had a rushing touchdown a two-point conversion for the Gators (3-0 overall). Jamarian Dawson hauled in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Smothers. Dawson also recovered a fumble.
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Dillard 25-12, 25-10, 17-25, 25-18 -- Alaysha Warren finished with 15 aces and five kills for the Eagles. Rosewood (7-0 overall) plays host to Mount Olive on Monday.
* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Mount Olive 25-20, 25-20, 25-11 -- MacKenzie Ingram had one kill for the Gators. Spring Creek (4-3 overall) travels to Brogden on Oct. 10.
