No. 1-ranked James Kenan upends Princeton

WARSAW -- No. 1-ranked James Kenan did most of its damage in the first half of a 35-22 win over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Princeton at Bill Taylor Field on Friday night.

The Tigers jumped ahead 21-7 at the half and increased it to 27-7 when Ja'Quan Williams scored on a 20-yard run in to open the third quarter.

Princeton rallied behind quarterback Michael Wooten and cut the lead to 27-22, but could get no closer. James Kenan fullback Al Owens put the game out of reach with a touchdown run from 12 yards out early in the fourth quarter.

Williams led James Kenan with 151 yards on the ground on 12 carries. Owens added 121 yards on 15 totes.

Johnny Frasier paced the Bulldogs with 75 yards rushing. Wooten completed 18 passes for 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tanner Woodard caught six passes for 68 yards and one touchdown.

Princeton (3-3 overall, 0-1 CC) returns to action in two weeks at home against Hobbton. James Kenan (5-0, 1-0) is the guest of Rosewood.
