WCDS snaps 2-game skid on volleyball court

SANFORD -- Rachel Uzzell logged a double-double and Wayne Country Day swept Grace Christian 25-15, 26-24, 25-10 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.
Uzzell passed out 16 assists and recorded 12 digs defensively for the Chargers, who snapped a two-match skid after weekend losses at Hickory Christian and perennial power Statesville Christian. Celeste Davis provided eight kills and three service aces.
Bailee Creger, Savannah Strickland and Sarah Crooks served three aces apiece.
The Chargers (1-2 overall) entertain Goldsboro on Sept. 3.
