SNOW HILL -- Greene Central earned the deciding point at number two doubles and outlasted Charles B. Aycock, 5-4, on Monday afternoon.
Lindsey May, MacKenzie Batts, Brycen Radford and Morgan Britt each earned a singles point for the Rams. The tandem of May-Radford prevailed in doubles.
Ashton Walker and Rachel Jackson each won their respective match in singles for the Golden Falcons. The pairings of Cassidy Coerver-Walker and Megan Parrish-Jackson won in doubles.
"Both squads are rebuilding this year, but there was still a lot of intensity in the match," GChead coach Donald Clark said. "(CBA) Coach (Summer) Pennington has a group of scrappy players this year, and we had to work hard for every point."
C.B. Aycock (1-1 overall) travels to J.H. Rose today. Greene Central (3-2) plays host to Wilson Fike on Wednesday.
