Chargers ousted from NCISAA 1A baseball playoffs

FAYETTEVILLE -- Freedom Christian pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in a 2-0 win over Wayne Country Day in the first round of the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A state playoffs on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Cody Neal held Freedom to two hits with six strikeouts and four walks in six innings of work in his final game in a Chargers' uniform.
It was also the last game in the high school careers of Luke Bryan, Jack Langston, Thomas Kierski and Wyatt Bland.
