State-ranked Epiphany defeats WCDS 1-0

Fourth-ranked Epiphany scored the game's only run in the top of the seventh inning and beat Wayne Country Day 1-0 in a Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference contest.
Both teams managed just one hit apiece. Wayne Country Day's Cody Neal and Epiphany's Chase Ballenger both pitched complete games and each hurler recorded 10 strikeouts. John Strickland collected the Chargers' lone hit.
Wayne Country Day (5-9 overall, 0-5 CPIC) is the guest of Wayne Christian on Monday.
