Eastern Wayne clinches ECC title outright

Eastern Wayne clinched the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference regular-season championship with a 5-4 win over South Johnston on Thursday afternoon.
Chaz Fitzpatrick, Mitchell Kaspar, Sawyer Thompson and Sam Biggs each collected a singles victory for the Warriors. The tandem of Fitzpatrick-Kaspar also won in doubles play.
Eastern Wayne (9-2 overall, 9-1 ECC) begins play in the ECC tournament on Wednesday at Herman Park.
