PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock erupted for 11 first-inning runs and handed Eastern Wayne a 14-0 loss in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play Thursday.
The Golden Falcons are 25-0 in regular-season and tournament play against the Warriors since 2002.
Cierra Harris (two RBI) and catcher Reagan Herndon (two RBI) cranked out three hits apiece in the mercy-rule affair. Taylor Bradshaw (RBI), Keely Fulgham (RBI) and Abbie Walton provided two hits apiece.
Hattie Beach (RBI) and Jenna Van Horn (two RBI) each had one hit.
Meredith Burroughs and Allie Phillips combined for five strikeouts inside the pitcher's circle. Burroughs claimed the mound win just 24 hours after belting a walk-off, ninth-inning home run against reigning 2-A state champion Beddingfield.
The Golden Falcons (10-7 overall, 8-2 ECC) play host to South Johnston on Monday.
