Saints double up Warriors in softball

Southern Wayne turned back Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference foe Eastern Wayne 8-4 in New Hope on Tuesday evening.
Haley Warren led the Saints with three hits and two RBI. Chelsea Hayes supplied a home run and three RBI.
Morgan Best collected the win in the pitcher's circle.
Amanda Hall paced Eastern Wayne with two hits.
Teammates Starla Strickland, Casey Young (two RBI), Debbie Mitchell, Diamond Parks and Sydney Schmeltzer provided one hit apiece.
Southern Wayne (8-8 overall, 4-5 ECC) entertains South Johnston on Thursday, while Eastern Wayne (1-13, 0-9) visits Charles B. Aycock.
