Rosewood stays unbeaten on Carolina 1-A baseball scene

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Rosewood scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning and held on for a 6-4 win at Carolina 1-A Conference foe Spring Creek on Tuesday evening.
The Eagles trailed 4-3 through four innings.
Jordan Gurley (RBI) and Reed Howell led the Eagles with two hits apiece. Corey Lynn (three RBI), Brent Breedlove (RBI), Will Lane (RBI), Bryce McKeel, Kahlil Warren and Jonathan Cherry each contributed a hit.
Howell surrendered four earned runs on eight hits, struck out eight and walked none in a complete-game effort. He threw 105 pitches.
Logan Miller paced Spring Creek with two hits. Ian Ladd (three RBI), Will Rouse, Tre Hammonds, Matt Rogers, Allen Coor and Chad Spurgeon all supplied a hit. Mason Harkay added an RBI.
Coor endured the loss on the mound.
Rosewood (4-9 overall, 3-0 CC) plays host to North Duplin on Thursday night. The Gators (6-7, 1-2) entertain North Lenoir today.
