Dogs' Johnson throws one-hit shutout

PRINCETON -- Kasey Johnson threw a one-hit shutout and Princeton easily handled Goldsboro, 15-0, in a mercy rule-shortened Carolina 1-A Conference game Tuesday afternoon.
Officials halted the contest after three innings.
Carson Braswell, Emily Woodward (three RBI) and Julia Coats (three RBI) pounded out two hits apiece for the Bulldogs.
Johnson logged eight strikeouts inside the pitcher's circle.
The Bulldogs (8-2 overall, 3-0 CC) travel to Ayden-Grifton on Friday.
