Chargers drop CPIC baseball opener

NEW BERN -- Epiphany scored eight runs in the home half of the second inning on its way to a 15-7 win over Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference foe Wayne Country Day on Tuesday.
Cody Neal led the Chargers with two hits and four RBI. Mason Bland (RBI), John Strickland (RBI), Thomas Kierski and Parker Smith each had a hit.
Wayne Country Day (2-5 overall, 0-1 CPIC) entertains Community Christian on Thursday.
