Spring Creek boys knock out Princeton

AYDEN -- Spring Creek erased an eight-point halftime deficit on its way to a 54-49 victory over Princeton in the first round of the Carolina 1-A Conference tournament on Tuesday night.
Jordan Hicks paced the Gators with 12 points and nine rebounds. Trey Hammonds scored 11 points and Logan Scott contributed 10 points. Brandon Gonzalez had nine points and Chad Spurgeon scored eight.
Michael Wooten finished with 13 points for the Bulldogs and Alex Whitley added 10.
Spring Creek (6-15 overall) faces top-seeded Goldsboro in Thursday's semifinals at Mount Olive College.
