Goldsboro put the finishing touches on its fourth consecutive Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season girls' basketball championship with a 61-15 triumph over county foe Spring Creek on Tuesday evening.
The Cougars (14-5 overall) improved to 9-0 against league opposition this season and extended their regular-season conference win streak to 39 games. Goldsboro has won 11 league crowns since 1980 when it competed in the old Mideastern 4-A Conference.
Freshman Tyona Moses paced the Cougars' attack with 17 points. Senior Brandy Johnson supplied 11 points.
Amber Bucham led the Gators with 10 points.
Goldsboro concludes regular-season play Friday at Ayden-Grifton, while Spring Creek tangles with border rival North Duplin at "The Swamp."
